The Canadiens were able to make it to Atlanta after being storm stayed in New York so we’ll see another great game against the Atlanta Thrashers.

Jaroslav Halak will get the start tonight due to his 40 save shutout performance on Saturday against the Islanders. Halak as 1 win and 2 losses in his career versus Atlanta recording an .827 save percentage averaging 4.67 goals against. Not exactly the best stats but we can only hope that he’ll be feeling good after coming off of a shutout.

Andrei Kostitsyn appears to be unstoppable in in the month of December notching 7 goals and 4 assists in 10 games including 2 goals against the Atlanta Thrashers in their last meeting.

Andrei Markov will definitely be a factor as well, especially on the power play where he made a huge splash on Saturday night.

Benoit Pouliot has been called up but will not be in the lineup tonight. Pouliot has a goal and 2 assists in 3 games with the Hamilton Bulldogs during his reconditioning assignment.

Yannick Weber and Tom Pyatt have both been reassigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs. Tom Pyatt has played 19 games with the Canadiens this season registering no points and a -9 defensive rating with 6 penalty minutes.

Yannick Weber has played just 3 games with the team this year registering 0 points and a -4 defensive rating.

Andrei Markov has done so well in his treatment that he may be back as early as next week! I don’t even care what I get for Christmas if Andrei Markov comes back. He’s probably the biggest impact for this team when he’s in or out.

Guillaume Latendresse is visiting the Bell Centre for the first time since his trade for Benoit Pouliot but the Canadiens will look to come out swinging after a third straight loss against the New Jersey Devils last night.

Due to Roman Hamrlik’s injury in last nights game, Yannick Weber has been recalled from the Hamilton Bulldogs.

Carey Price will get his second start in a row after the .925 performance he achieved last night. Carey Price has only faced the Minnesota Wild one other time in his career with the Canadiens getting the win and Price only allowing one goal for a .966 save percentage.

The Canadiens are going to need to come out swinging in this one. The Wild have 35 points and are 8-2-0 in their last 10 games.

Mike Cammalleri has 10 points in 20 games against the Minnesota Wild and 8 points in his last 7 games. Expect at least 1 goal from Cammy tonight.

Weber has been sent back to Hamilton after not playing a single game. All of these player movements are making my head spin, I can only imagine what the players must be feeling.

On the bright side, a demotion indicates that that player isn’t needed which means that an injured player is ready or near ready to return.

All of these player movements are making my head spin.

Yannick Weber is the latest addition to player movements as he has been recalled from the Hamilton Bulldogs and will join the team tomorrow night as they face the Pittsburgh Penguins.

MONTREAL, QC – Montreal Canadiens General Manager Bob Gainey announced today that defenceman Yannick Weber has been recalled to Montreal from the Hamilton Bulldogs.

Weber, 21, has played in 22 games with the Bulldogs this season posting six points (one goal, five assists) and 22 penalty minutes. The 5-foot-11, 193-pound defenceman played in three games with the Canadiens earlier in the season but was held pointless. The native of Zurich, Switzerland was drafted by Montreal in the 3rd round, 73rd overall in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Well, after playing just 3:11 in last night’s win over the Ottawa Senators then being taken out of the game because the Canadiens didn’t inform the NHL of the move, Ryan White has been sent back to Hamilton.

Quite a ride for this kid.

Just days after being sent back to the Hamilton Bulldogs, the Montreal Canadiens have recalled Ryan White back to the team.

I would imagine this is due to the injury to Paul Mara which sees Marc-Andre Bergeron return to the blue line after a few games of his playing as a forward.

White didn’t have much production the first time he was with the Canadiens this season notching just 2 points, both assists, but has 7 points in 12 games with the Bulldogs.

He’s shown a lot of grit and is a great power forward in the making in my opinion.

After playing just seven games with the Montreal Canadiens, Jay Leach has been claimed off of waivers by the San Jose Sharks tonight.

Leach has 0 points and 5 penalty minutes in the 7 games that he’s played this season.

After just his first game with the Montreal Canadiens last night, David Desharnais has been recalled back to Hamilton.

Desharnais had no shots and was a -1 in his debut for the Montreal Canadiens.

Back to back game days are never ideal but let’s try to make the best of it, O.K. guys! The Canadiens visit the reigning Stanley Cup champion, Pittsburgh Penguins tonight in Pittsburgh as they hope to continue their dominant play.

Andrei Kostitsyn will be out of the lineup for tonight’s game with what is reported as a fractured foot. Another one bites the dust. In his place will be David Desharnais who the Canadiens’ recalled from the Hamilton Bulldogs earlier in the day. Desharnais just recently came back from an injury of his own and has 4 goals and 6 assists in just 7 games with the Bulldogs so he’ll be looking to make a statement.

Carey Price will be in nets tonight after last nights stellar performance. Price has a 4-2 record in 6 career games against the Penguins, recording a 2.97 goals against average and a .902 save percentage.

This should be interesting to say the least. The Penguins are 16-8 on the season compared to the Canadiens’ record of 12-11, but the Habs have typically played well against the Pens, especially when Price is playing goal.
