Another close ending lead to a 3-2 win for the Montreal Canadiens which puts them on a two game winning streak and sees them 5 – 5 in their last 10 games.
The Capitals came out of the first period with the early lead, but the Habs came out in the second with goals from Travis Moen and Tomas Plekanec giving them a 2-1 lead. Cammalleri added a goal on the powerplay in the third which gave the Canadiens a 3-1 lead before Brendan Morrison scored one on Price with two and a half minutes to play.
The end of this game was a bit of a nail biter due to a late chance by Mike Green that got past Price and his the post. Another close goal came from Max Pacioretty who put a feed from Andrei Kostitsyn through the legs of Michal Neuvirth and out the other side of the net. Needless to say, Patches was pissed. He was probably the most angry that I have ever seen him.
Price had another stellar outing making 32 stops out of 34 shots giving him a .940 save percentage which was his average in the last few games prior to this one. Price has shown in these last few games that he is more than capable of playing in this league and the next time that someone doubts that I’m going to make them remember how good he can be.
The three stars of the game in this one were 3) Mike Green, 2) Carey Price and 3) Tomas Plekanec. Someone please do my a favor by taking that ‘A’ off of Hal Gill and place it on Pleky. Turtle neck is ripping it up.
